Saints roll past Lake Sumter; Clinch spot in FCSAA State Tournament

Kaylin Powell continued her solid play as of late, leading the Santa Fe Saints past Mid-Florida Conference foe Lake Sumter State College in straight sets (25-17, 25-18, 25-10). Powell led all players with 16 kills and hit an incredible .714.
The win locks up a spot for the Saints in the FCSAA State Tournament. Their seeding will be determined after the final MFC game of the season on Thursday at the College of Central Florida.
The Saints wasted little time against the Lakehawks, sweeping the match in an hour and eight minutes. Joing Powell with double digit kills were Ruth Harrington 12, and Julie Fuchs 10. Farah Rajaee finished with 47 assists and 12 digs, and Ann-Lorrayne Bzoch had 18 digs. Harrington collected another double double with 17 digs to go with her 12 kills.
Santa Fe will wrap up conference play on Thursday, Oct. 23 at College of Central Florida at 7 p.m.. The match can be seen live onhttp://www.ihigh.com/collegeofcentralfla/
The next home match for SF is on Saturday, October 25 at 2 p.m. against Polk State College. The game against Palm Beach has been cancelled.
