Santa Fe College to be featured in upcoming movie

July 21, 2014

Santa Fe College students participated in on-camera interviews recently for a film being produced by Honor Flight, Central Florida Chapter, to honor veterans.

Honor Flight is a nationwide nonprofit organization that takes veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit memorials in their honor at no charge to the veteran. The Central Florida chapter traveled from Orlando to the northwest campus to capture students in front of a green screen expressing appreciation and gratitude to World War II and Korean War servicemen and -women for a film designed to give veterans who cannot travel to Washington, D.C., the 'Honor Flight' experience through film.

The film crew gathered exterior shots of campus, including aerial footage from the Veteran Memorial Flagpole situated on the southwest side of the Santa Fe College athletics fields. Raw footage of the aerial shot can be viewed at http://youtu.be/Wped_cZxw_s.  Students and parents attending a Student Life breakout session during New Student Orientation were also filmed and will be featured in the movie.

The feature length film, set for release by Veterans Day, will be shown free to the public on the Santa Fe College Northwest Campus in early December.
