Ragsdale Named First Team MFC; Five Others Named Second Team MFC

Gainesville, FL – Santa Fe sophomore George Ragsdale was recently honored as a Mid-Florida Conference First Team member for his play during the regular season.  Five other Saints were also honored as members of the MFC Second Team.

Ragsdale finished his lone season at Santa Fe with a .323 batting average, three homeruns, 12 doubles, and 26 RBI.  As a freshman he played for the University of Virginia before transferring to SF.

Sophomore Kevin Martin led the group of five honored on the MFC Second Team.  Martin finished the year 5-4 with 64 strikeouts in 66.2 innings pitched.  On April 21 he tossed the first no hitter in Santa Fe baseball history against Florida State College-Jacksonville.

Sophomore outfielder Jonathan Camp (.329, 12 2B, 4 HR, 36 RBI); sophomore infielder Colby Lusignan (.308, 6 HR, 30 RBI); sophomore catcher Roger Gonzalez (.268, 10 2B, 2 HR, 23 RBI); and freshman infielder Payson Smith (.340, 5 2B, 19 RBI) were all also honored on the MFC Second Team.
