Peres and Masso Named All-State; Ten Others All-MFC

Gainesville, FL – Santa Fe freshman pitcher Maddy Peres wrapped up a stellar regular season by being name the Mid-Florida Conference Pitcher of the Year, First Team FCSAA All-State, and First Team All Mid-Florida Conference. Third baseman Sid Masso was named Second Team FCSAA All-State and First Team All MFC for the second year in a row.
Peres finished the regular season with a 15-8 mark in 24 starts and struck out 157 in 146 innings pitched. She had a 1.34 ERA and allowed just 87 hits. She was solid in the batter's box as well, hitting .333 with two doubles, two homeruns, and 10 RBI.
Masso key the Saints offense all season from the lead-off spot where she hit .348 with a team best 63 hits, 19 stolen bases, and 42 runs scored. She also hit three homeruns, seven doubles, two triples, and drove in 17.
Second team All MFC: 1B Rachel Hoeft (.343, 15 2B, 32 RBI); OF Megan McDonald (.328, 6 2B, 2 HR, 15 RBI); OF Celeste Bradshaw (.299, 3 2B, 2 HR, 21 RBI); C Geena Capitini (.356, 6 2B, 3 HR, 25 RBI); P Amber Maxey (11-6, 1.46 ERA… .256, 3 2B, 2 HR, 12 RBI).
Honorable Mention All MFC: C Yanira Sanchez (.167, 9 RBI); P Ashley Chapman (5-3, 3.08 ERA); SS Beri Scott (.247, 19 runs, 12 RBI); OF Torri Bethel (.242, 8 RBI); 2B Erin Marsh (.211, 17 runs, 3 RBI).
