Fastpitch Sweeps Lake Sumter 10-2 and 4-2; Win MFC Championship

Leesburg, FL – The Santa Fe Saints hit five homeruns on Saturday afternoon against lake Sumter State College, sweeping a double header from the Lakehawks to clinch the Mid-Florida Conference championship. The MFC title is the ninth in the last 10 years for the Saints.
Megan McDonald homered twice (solo and three run homer) in game one and Celeste Bradshaw drilled an inside the park grand slam to pace the Saints (32-19, 19-5 MFC) to a 10-2 five inning victory. Maddy Peres started in the circle and picked up the win.
In game two Celeste Bradshaw homered again, and Maddy Peres belted a two run homerun to push SF past Lake Sumter 4-2. Amber Maxey was in the circle for the Saints and earned the win.
Santa Fe will host Chipola College in a non-conference double header at home on Saturday, April 26 at 1:00 PM.
