Leon Larson serves as a delegate to the International Olympic Committee

Leon Larson, adjunct Fine Arts music professor, was selected to serve on the Environment Committee for the International Water Ski and Wakeboard Federation (IWWF). In that capacity, he was a delegate to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Ten World Conference on Sport and Environment in Sochi, Russia - the site of the 2014 Winter Olympics.

At this conference, he had the opportunity to interact with the president of the IOC Mr. Thomas Bach along with other Olympic organizers both past, present, and future. This conference focuses on sustainability and legacy in major sporting events.

Larson has facilitated numerous drum circles and has conducted hand drumming workshops throughout the state. In addition to these activities, Larson owns and operates a small business which manufactures and markets African drums and accessories, under the name, "L.J. Larsonhas taught Community Education classes at SF in hand drumming for the past 15 years, and is currently teaching as an adjunct music professor in the Fine Arts department, where he has been for the past 5 years.
