Gainesville, FL – Coach Nick Cheronis recently announced the signing of Oak Leaf High School senior Amber Hendry to his 2014 signing class.  Hendry currently plays middle for her high school and Jacksonville Juniors travel ball team, but will move to the left side, where Coach Cheronis expects she will flourish.

"I couldn't be more excited to have an athlete of Amber's caliber join our first recruiting class," Cheronis commented.  "She is a high flying, explosive player that fans are going to have a blast watching. Although she is playing middle now, we will be moving her to the left side to take advantage of her athleticism."

As a high school player, Hendry racked up quite the list of awards, including: All County First Team, All Area Second Team, Defensive Player of the Year, and the 2012 MVP of the KHHS Dig Pink Tournament.

She also competed in international play for the United States under 17 team against the likes of Slovenia, Germany, Czech Republic, Italy, and Austria at the New Year's Bash Tournament in 2012 and 2013.
