Men's Basketball Falls to Gulf Coast, 78-68

SF MEN'S BASKETBALL
After starting the season 10-0 the Santa Fe Saints have dropped their last two games, both to tough Panhandle Conference opponents. On Saturday afternoon a good start for SF wasn't enough as Gulf Coast State College closed on a strong note, pulling out the 78-68 win.
FCSAA #3/NJCAA #20 Santa Fe (10-2) saw a 26-16 lead slowly slip away as the Commodores clawed their way back from the double digit deficit to just a four point margin at the half, 32-28.
The game was back and forth to start the second half before Gulf Coast pressed on the gas and pulled away for the 78-68 win.
"We played pretty well over the first 15 minutes but started to fall apart defensively in the second half," said SF Coach Chris Mowry. "We didn't play up to our capabilities at all today. We have to shoot free throws better and we need to play defense for 40 minutes."
Jonathan hood led SF with 15 points, Salim Gloyd had 12, and Reggie Hart scored 11.
The Saints will take a few days off before returning to the court for the Florida Colleges Shootout in Gainesville December 14 and 15. SF will battle Indian River State on Saturday at 11:00 AM and Eastern Florida State on Sunday at 7 p.m. Both games will be live on www.ihigh.com/santafesaints
