SF WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Marianna, FL – The Santa Fe Saints (2-2) led at half time and with 1:30 left in the game but couldn't close things out as the Eagles of Tallahassee CC (3-1) hit two game winning free throws with three seconds remaining to pull out the two point win.  Tori Baggett put up a last second desperation three from NBA range but just missed to seal the Saints fate.

SF led a majority of the first half and took an eight point advantage into halftime.  They controlled the action in the second half as well until the final 90 second when three straight turnovers did them in.

"I'm not happy with how we finished the game," said SF Coach Chanda Stebbins.  "We have to get our ball handlers to take care of the ball better, it's something we will stress this week in practice."

Tatiana Manuel made the most of her first collegiate start, coming up just two blocks shy of a triple double.  She finished with 10 points, 13 rebounds and 8 blocks.  Tori Baggett had 18 points, Jaquasha Sesler pitched in 14 and Areana Davis had 12 points and 14 rebounds.

"I'm proud of Tatiana and how she really stepped up for us," said Stebbins. "This weekend was a good learning experience for our team against some very good competition.  We will learn from it and get better."

The Saints will host IMG Academy on Tuesday, November 12 at 6:00 PM on Faculty Appreciation Night.
