Dr. Kumar Talks About Education in India Oct. 14

On Monday, Oct.14, Dr. Amitava Kumar, a professor at Vassar College, is coming to Santa Fe College. Dr. Kumar will give a presentation– “How to Compete with a Billion People: Report from a Provincial Classroom”– regarding the importance of education in India’s underprivileged communities. Dr. Kumar is an award winning author of both fiction and non-fiction and will read short excerpts from his forthcoming book, A Matter of Rats: A Short Biography of Patna.
The presentation is free and open to the public, and will be held Monday, Oct.14 from 7-8:30 p.m. in SF’s Fine Arts Hall.
