Santa Fe College Designated Military Friendly

Tallahassee, Fla., September 11, 2013 - Fifteen Florida College System (FCS) institutions were designated as military-friendly schools according to a new list by Victory Media. The list recognizes the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools doing the most to recruit and retain military students and their families.

"The Florida College System is proud to provide education, job training and re-training to active duty military, veterans and their families," said FCS Chancellor Randy Hanna. "This designation recognizes the commitment of our colleges to serving the military community through world-class programs and support services."

Victory Media prepared the 2014 Military Friendly Schools list using extensive research about on-campus support, academic credibility, veteran student outcomes and student satisfaction. Fifteen FCS institutions received the military-friendly designation.

  • Tallahassee Community College
  • Valencia College

"The military-friendly schools list comes on the heels of the announcement that 100 percent of our colleges committed to adopt veteran-friendly policies through the '8 Keys to Success,'" said Chancellor Hanna. "I commend our colleges for creating veteran-friendly campuses that promote student success."
