Lance Turner - Infinite Interruptions

Are we really the people we portray ourselves to be on Facebook? Who is it that tweets
on Twitter? In this digital era, what do our posts on the "constructed reality" of
Internet social media sites reveal about who we really are, how we are perceived by
others and the relationship between art and photography?
The painter Lance Turner explores these questions and more in the exhibition "Infinite
Interruptions: The Paintings of Lance Turner from the Collection of Jonathan Carroll,"
on view Sept. 6-Oct. 25, 2013, at the Santa Fe Gallery in room M-147 at the Northwest
Campus, 3000 NW 83 Street, Gainesville. The gallery is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mon.-Fri.
Admission is free and everyone is welcome. On Thursday, Sept. 5, the public is invited
to watch Turner create a mural in the gallery prior to the opening of the exhibition
at a free public reception the next day, 7-9 p.m. An opening reception will be held
7-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, in the Santa Fe Gallery, room M-147 at the Northwest
Campus. "Infinite Interruptions" is sponsored in part by a State of Florida Cultural
