Wish-Granting Training Aug. 3

August 1, 2013

Wish Granting Training
Saturday, Aug. 3, 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m., location TBA

Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and North Florida will host a Wish Granting Training Session in Gainesville. Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.

Training will teach volunteers how to determine the child's one true wish; different wish granting techniques; policies and guidelines; and, how to grant the actual wish. Wish Granters team up in pairs and work directly with the children and their families to make these wishes come true.

Wish Granters volunteer their time around their own schedule and traditionally requires one hour per week. Ideal wish granters have great communication and commitment skills and are very patient. Volunteers must be 21 years old or older.
