Cinema Verde Film Investigates Climate Change July 10

July 9, 2013

The next Cinema Verde Environmental Film & Arts Festival screening, "Greedy Lying Bastards," will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 10 at Gators 4 Cinema in the Oaks Mall Plaza. The film investigates the reason behind stalled efforts to tackle climate change despite consensus in the scientific community that it is not only a reality but also a growing problem placing us on the brink of disaster.

Continuing its partnership with Cinema Verde, Green Drinks will have refreshments on sale at 6 p.m. A percentage of the proceeds will benefit Cinema Verde and Green Drinks. There will also be a networking opportunity with various companies and organizations at this time. Announcements will be held in the theater at 6:45 p.m., and when the film ends at 8:40 p.m. there will be a discussion and presentation by guest speakers Occupy Gainesville, Buy Local and Move to Amend.
