"Simplifying Canvas Using Modules" Workshop June 18 and 19
June 18, 2013
Academic Technologies and OpenCampus will present a series of Canvas workshops over the summer. Each workshop will focus on a particular topic, such as content organization, communication tools, the grade book, assessments, etc. The goal is to continue to deliver the workshops both face-to-face and online in the fall semester and beyond, adding and changing titles as needed.
The first workshop, "Simplifying Canvas Using Modules," will be held twice: 9:15 – 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, June 18 in P-266 (with lab time immediately afterwards until 11 a.m. in P-267) and 1:15 – 2:15 P.M. Wednesday, June 19 in P-266 (with lab time immediately afterwards until 3 p.m. in P-267). This one-hour workshop will explain some of the key differences between Angel and Canvas, focusing on content organization and terminology.
After the workshop, you will have the opportunity to work in the lab to put what you learned into practice, ask questions and receive individual help.
Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- differentiate between key terminology within Canvas, specifically as it relates to "Assignments" and "Modules"
- modify the left navigation area so that students have access to only the tools they need
- use the module tool to organize course content
