SF Digital Media Students Receive Scholarships
May 16, 2013
The Digital Media Technology department at Santa Fe College held the 2013 Student Showcase Thursday, May 2 with a gala opening and awards ceremony.
At the ceremony, AdFed of Gainesville awarded their 2013 scholarships.
A long-time priority for AdFed of Gainesville is education and helping support future leaders in the advertising industry.
In 1995 a scholarship program was created in memory of a dedicated member of AdFed, Sue Dixon Smith, and is designed to assist deserving students and foster leadership, service, determination, commitment and creativity.
The students awarded scholarships from AdFed of Gainesville were chosen based on these characteristics, a 4.0 grade point average and outstanding extracurricular work within the Digital Media program.
This year AdFed of Gainesville presented scholarship checks to Thea Nalls, Danielle Heslup, Baylee Adams, Julie Harris, Stephen Patterson, Anna Horton, Coral Boyd and Chris Wright.
The Advertising Federation of Gainesville, in existence for more than 35 years, is a member of the American Advertising Federation 4th District Florida/Caribbean. The AAF 4th District, comprised of 21 local federations in Florida and throughout the Caribbean, is a multi-dimensional network of professionals representing all disciplines of advertising. The goal of the organization is to educate advertising professionals and students, monitor legislative issues, recognize excellence and drive traffic to all businesses to help build our economy.
