Scoggins Named MFC Player of the Year; Five Others Honored

Gainesville, FL – Freshman outfielder Casey Scoggins made the most of his first collegiate season, recently earning Mid-Florida Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-MFC honors.
Scoggins led the conference in batting average (.390), runs scored (51), and stolen bases (16). He also had five doubles, a .490 on base percentage and drove in 21 runs from the leadoff spot.
Joining Scoggins on the first team were sophomore shortstop Jarred Mederos and freshman infielder Colby Lusignan. Mederos finished the 2013 season hitting .317 with 11 doubles, 25 RBI, and seven stolen bases. Lusignan hit .331 with five doubles and 38 RBI.
Second team All-MFC members: freshman outfielder Jonathan Camp (.342 BA, 10 2B, 37 RBI); sophomore infielder Caleb Denmark (.273 BA, 7 HR, 38 RBI); and freshman LHP Kevin Martin (6-0, 1.99 ERA, 68 K's)
