Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo Requests More FrogWatch Volunteers
April 19, 2013
It's time again for another FrogWatch USA Training Session. The previous training session held in February was a success and the demand is high for another one.
FrogWatch USA is a citizen science program that trains volunteers to recognize frog and toad calls and record them onto data sheets. The data is then sent to scientists to be analyzed for the species' conservation status. The training session teaches volunteers that amphibians are very important for the environment and are a huge part of our ecosystem.
The next training session will be held at the Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo on April 20 from 1-4PM. The only requirements are that you can commit to record the calls at least once a week for the duration of the FrogWatch USA season (February-August).
Even if you aren't an amphibian expert, hop on over to the Santa Fe Teaching Zoo for the next training session! For more information email Frogwatch@sfcollege.edu.
