Gainesville, FL – The Central Florida College Patriots took a second straight game from Santa Fe College, dropping the Saints 13-7 in Ocala on Friday afternoon. The two teams will complete their three game series on Saturday in Ocala at 1:00 PM.
CF jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning but the Saints answered quickly, scoring five in the top of the third, powered by a three run home run from Caleb Denmark. The Patriots wasted no time retaking the lead, plating four in the bottom of the third to go back ahead 7-5.
Central Florida added runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh to push the margin to 11-5. The Saints attempted to get back into it with two in the eight, but it was too little too late. CF matched the two runs with a couple of their own in the bottom of the inning and finished out the win with a scoreless ninth.
Eight different Saints had one hit a piece, led by Denmark's homerun and Blake Berger's two RBI.
Santa Fe and Central Florida meet again tomorrow, April 13 at 1:00 PM in Ocala.
