SF Basketball Heads to State Tournament March 6-9

Gainesville, FL - The Santa Fe men's and women's basketball teams have made their final preparations and are set to do battle this week in Marianna, FL at the FCSAA State Tournament on March 6-9. The winner of each respective tournament and an at large team will qualify for the NJCAA National Tournament in Kansas. Every game of the state tournament can be watched live on www.psblive.com.
The women open things up on Wednesday, March 6 against Gulf Coast State College at 3:00 PM Central Time. The Commodores are the #1 team in the nation. The two teams met once this year with GCSC coming out on top 87-79 in a tightly contested match-up. SF sophomore forward Paulina Zaveckaite needs 15 rebounds during the tournament to reach become the first player in school history with 500 rebounds in a season.
The Santa Fe men play their first game on Thursday, March 7 at 8:00 PM Central against Brevard College. The two teams did not meet during the regular season. Sophomore guard Bobby Hunter currently leads the nation in scoring at 25.5 points per game.
