Honors Students Attend Conference

February 25, 2013

On Feb. 23 and 24, the Honors Program at Santa Fe College was represented at not one, but two research conferences. Jennifer Pelfrey presented her research poster "Ethical Analysis of Human Embryonic Stem Cells (hESCs)" at the 3rd Annual Florida Undergraduate Research Conference at the University of Florida.

Lisa Walker ("Practicing and Celebrating the Nigerian Yoruban Culture") and Juan Vivas ("Voluntary Active Euthanasia," co-authored with Amy Nguyen) presented their posters at the Florida Collegiate Honors Council Annual Conference in Fort Lauderdale. Juan and Amy's poster was also featured at last Thursday's UF Chemical Engineering ChemE event. Katy Burnett won the FCHC Freshman/Sophomore Documented Research Honorable Mention award and $50 prize for her essay "The Legacy of the Occupation of Alcatraz."
