This year's Santa Fe College March of Dimes Ambassador Scott Harold Jamison III was born on May 14, 2012 to parents Scott and Kelly and weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces. Prior to Scotty's arrival, his parents lost twin girls Ava Grace and Claire Faith at 25 weeks on May 13, 2011. Almost one year to the day later, the Jamisons gave birth to their healthy baby boy. Scott and Kelly are very grateful for the good health of Scotty and everything the March of Dimes does for babies like Scotty, Ava and Claire.
On behalf of SF's March of Dimes 2013 campaign, we invite you to be a hero for babies. Our goal is to raise at least $13,000 in support of the March of Dimes. If everyone at SF donated only $1 each, we could easily reach this goal!
There are many ways you can contribute as an individual or a department. You can sign up to walk in the March for Babies event on March 23 at Westwood Middle School or fundraise online as part of the SF team. Volunteers are needed to help staff the SF Spirit Station during the March for Babies walk. You can also sell chocolate bars or help out at one of the fundraising events we are organizing.
We are hoping to have some friendly competition between SF departments to see who can raise the most money. Special thanks to Dr. Naima Brown, who is offering an incentive for the Student Affairs department that raises the greatest percentage of money per person, and to Alora Haynes, who is collecting donations at events. We would also like to thank the SF bookstore, who has one employee willing to shave his head if the bookstore staff raises at least $2,500.
What would you do to save babies? We want to know! Please contact Sharon Loschiavo at 352-395-5763 or sharon.loschiavo@sfcollege.edu, or Scott Jamison at 352-395-5616 or scott.jamison@sfcollege.edu if you are willing to offer an incentive for raising money or participate in fundraising yourself.
