SF WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Gainesville, FL – When the Santa Fe Saints women's basketball team takes the court at 7:00 PM Wednesday, February 13 against Daytona State College, Paulina Zaveckaite will start the game as the nation's leading rebounder, by a wide margin.  Her 15.8 boards per game is 2.2 more than the next closest player and her 424 overall rebounds is just eight shy of breaking the Santa Fe single season mark of 431 set by Laura Johnson in 1981-82.

Zaveckaite, a 6'2 sophomore from Lithuania, has already set the national record for rebounds in a game on January 9 against Daytona when she pulled down 32.

The Saints enter the game in third place in the Mid-Florida Conference.  They have a 16-11 overall record and are 4-5 in MFC play.  Santa Fe and Daytona have split their two previous match-ups this season.  The Falcons took game one on January 9 in Gainesville 84-80 in overtime and on January 26 SF pulled out a 54-53 victory in Daytona.

Admission is just $3 for the general public, $2 for military and seniors and free for SF students, faculty, staff and children under 12.

For fans that can't attend live, www.psblive.com will carry the game live via streaming video.
