SF MEN'S BASKETBALL
Gainesville, FL – Djorde Vidosavljevic scored a career high 10 points and had 12 rebounds for his first double double to help lead the Santa Fe Saints past Tampa Bay International Academy 114-45. Bobby Hunter led all scorers with 31 points and currently leads the NJCAA in scoring with 24.4 points per game. The win was the fifth in a row for SF.
"This game was a good chance for all of our guys to get some quality minutes," said SF Coach Chris Mowry. "Djorde did a nice job inside and Roody had another very good game."
The game was never in doubt as SF jumped out early and led 57-23 at the half time break. The Saints kept the pressure on and stretched the lead out the entire way, winning by a season high 71. The win is the third for SF of 60 or more points this season.
Santa Fe shot 58% from the field (48-for-83) and held TBIA to just 33% shooting (20-for-61).
Roody Saint-Germain had 15 points and six rebounds, Deonte Moore scored 15 and dished out four assists and Takija Knight scored 14 points and pulled down seven rebounds to give the Saints five players in double figures. Andrea Robinson led both teams with 13 rebounds.
"We played very unselfish today," said Mowry. "Our guys were looking to pass and trying to get their team mates points. This was a good tune up for a tough game on Tuesday. State College of Florida is a tough match-up for us. We will need to play at a very high level to get a win."
The Manatees of SCF make the trip to Gainesville Tuesday, January 15 for a 7:00 PM game. The two teams met earlier in the season with the Manatees coming out on top 107-97 in Bradenton.
