A Message from President Jackson Sasser

January 8, 2013

Dear colleagues,

On Friday and over the weekend, I received a few responses from you regarding convocation. As a public institution of higher education our college is obviously not a house of worship, a synagogue, mosque, or in any way a proponent of any religion. Similarly, we do not endorse any political party or philosophy. That does not mean individuals external to the college in the community and state or guests do not hold strong views and even want the college to endorse specific streams of thought. Thanks to all of you who have assisted me in clarifying this important distinction. I would like to call a brief, college-wide meeting at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8 in S-29/30 to further explain the college's position and to continue briefly discussing our opportunities this semester in internationalizing our college.
