Thompson and the Saints Cruise Past Prince George's 86-32 in Shortened Game

Ocala, FL – The Santa Fe Saints pulled out a convincing win on Friday night in the first game of the SF Holiday Classic in Ocala against Prince George's Community College in a bizarre game with an even more bizarre finish.
Five players fouled out for the Owls and one was ejected, leaving PGCC with just two players with 11:32 left in the game. The officials met and decided to call the game, giving SF an 86-32 win. The victory moves the Saints to 11-5.
A big first half run put the game away early for SF and gave them a 43-15 lead at the break. The Owls made just five field goals in the first half, two of them coming in the final two minutes.
In the second half, Prince George's committed 19 fouls in under nine minutes. Six players were disqualified from the game before the game was called.
Santa Fe outscored the Owls 37-11 at the free throw line and outrebounded them 61-23.
Tiara Thompson scored 25 points to lead the Saints offensively. Paulina Zaveckaite recorded another double double, finishing with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Jaquasha Sesler added 13 points and Tay Couch had 12 points and seven rebounds.
Santa Fe continues in the SF Holiday Classic on Saturday, December 29 against Pensacola State College at 6:00 PM. Prince George's and Gulf Coast State College precede them at 4:00 PM.
