Thompson Named Player of the Week: Nov. 26 – Dec. 2

Gainesville, FL – Santa Fe College's Tiara Thompson is this week's NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Thompson, a sophomore from Pensacola, Fla., averaged 18.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals in two games during the voting period. This is the second week in a row a Saints has won player of the week. Paulina Zaveckaite won for the week of November 19-25.

At last weekend's Florida College's Women's Basketball Shootout, Thompson led the Saints to wins over Indian River State and Brevard. On November 30 against Indian River State, she tallied 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists in Santa Fe's 66-54 win. The next day, she hit 8-of-11 field goals and 7-of-8 from the free throw line en route to a 24-point outing in a 93-56 win over Brevard.

For the week, Thompson shot 65.0 percent (13-of-20) from the floor and 90.0 percent (9-of-10) from the free throw line.
