November 26, 2012
SF WOMEN'S BASKETBALL – 11/23/2012
Niceville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints were tied with the top team in the nation at halftime 39-39 but a late 20-5 run by the Raiders of Northwest Florida State College was the difference in an otherwise close contest.
Paulina Zaveckaite did all she could for SF, piling up 21 points and a season high 20 rebounds. Tiara Thompson scored 10 and Jaquasha Sesler added 11 for Santa Fe (6-4).
The Saints struggled from long range, going just 4-for-27 from the three point line and turned the ball over 16 times in the second half.
"We played well in the first half against a very good team," said SF Coach Chanda Stebbins. "We were a little sloppy in the second half and it cost us."
Santa Fe will have a chance to bounce back tomorrow when they battle Chipola College in Niceville at 1:30 PM CST.
