Lisa Davis of Health Sciences Walks to Help Heart Patients

November 20, 2012

Lisa Davis, Health Sciences, participated in the American Heart Association's Heart Walk, held on Saturday, October 13, 2012. For the past three years, Lisa, along with family and friends, raised funds needed for critical cardiovascular disease research and education.

Did you know that heart disease claims the lives of more people than the next three leading causes of death combined?

Here is how your donations helped:
-gave people educational materials that teach them how to personally reduce their risk of heart diseases and stroke
-delivered the message of healthy nutrition to elementary school students through lesson plans and activity guides
-allowed one hospital to teach its patients, caregivers, and health professionals about the risks of stroke's, the nation's No. 4 killer

Chances are you or someone you know has a connection to heart disease or stroke!

"We have so much fun and it was all for a good cause," Lisa said.
