Wish Upon a Star to Help Needy Children This Holiday Season
November 7, 2012
Dear Students and Colleagues,
The holiday season is just around the corner! Santa Fe College Center for Student Leadership and Activities, Office of Civic Engagement and Service has partnered with Partnership for Strong Families for their "Wish Upon a Star" holiday toy drive. "Wish Upon a Star" is unlike many other holiday toy drives as up to three personal wishes from each child in their care are granted by a "Wish Upon a Star" sponsor.
This is how it works:
As a "Wish Upon a Star" sponsor, you will receive a star for each child you, your department or your student organization chooses to sponsor. This star will have the child's name, age, race, gender and his or her three wishes. We ask that our sponsors supply at least two of these three wishes, making each child approximately a $50 commitment.
If you, your department, or your student organization would like to be a "Wish Upon a Star" sponsor, please pick up a star in the S-lobby starting Thursday, Nov. 8. All gifts should be labeled, wrapped, and dropped off to the S-lobby by Monday, Nov. 26. You can contact charlotte.elliott@sfcollege.edu.
We hope that we can count on your support to fulfill the wishes of the 1,200 children rescued from abuse and neglect in our community. With your help, we can make sure that this holiday season is a merry one for these deserving children.
Sincerely,
Charlotte J. Elliott
