At forum, candidates discuss airport, debt, special interests

Three candidates for Florida's 3rd Congressional District described their differences Monday at a Santa Fe College forum, perhaps none bigger than their approaches to the Gainesville Regional Airport.

Congressional candidates focus on economy in debate

Congressional candidates Ted Yoho, J.R. Gaillot and Phil Dodds spoke at Santa Fe College on Monday in a public information forum. The forum started off with statements from each candidate about why he is running for U.S. Congress. The candidates then answered questions, some of which were posed by audience members.

Boo at the Zoo planned Wednesday

Boo at the Zoo combines fun and giving for children and families. They can trick-or-treat, see animals and donate food to local charities Wednesday starting at 3 p.m.

Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo welcomes 'boo-tiful' new baby

The Santa Fe Teaching Zoo received a special treat last week, and it wasn't Halloween candy. A new white-handed baby gibbon was born at 8:45 a.m. on Oct. 23, according to a press release from Santa Fe College.
