Santa Fe College AFC Named 2012 Association of the Year

October 19, 2012

From AFC CEO Michael Brawer

I am very pleased to share with you that your AFC was named the 2012 Association of the Year by the Tallahassee Society of Association Executives (TSAE), yesterday at its annual Conference and meeting. To earn the award, TSAE considers several criteria. These include 1) history, mission, and industry served; 2) community involvement and special projects conducted; 3) ongoing programs and services to members; 4) external relationships with other organizations; 5) strength of advocacy; and 6) programs and services provided to develop AFC staff.

I can't describe how proud I am for our chapters and commissions, as well as the AFC staff. It is because of their efforts and energy that we have been honored with this recognition. I have given all of the AFC staff free reign to participate in TSAE programs and activities, and they have been very involved as participants in professional development offered as well as committee leaders over the past few years. Our own Adrienne Bryant was recently elected to the TSAE Board. The TSAE has over 600 members representing up to 400 hundred Associations and nonprofits. This was a highly competitive designation and one that we will relish for a long time.

Thank you for your support of your college chapter and your staff involvement with AFC commissions because without them this would not have happened.

Mike
