Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe College assistant coaching staffs experienced some turnover this offseason and filling the void are two former local standouts in their respective sport and one former SF athlete.

Brittany Davis, a member of the 2009 and 2010 Saints fastpitch teams, returns to Gainesville as an assistant coach for Chris Ahern in 2012-13. After graduating from SF, Davis transferred to Tennessee State University where she played for two seasons before graduating with her bachelor's degree.

"After Brittany graduated from Santa Fe she spent a semester volunteering with the softball program before transferring to continue playing ball at Tennessee State University, a Division I school," said Ahern. "She was a great help to us. And, we anticipate that her energy, experience and commitment to excellence will be valuable to us as she returns to help the Saints' program. She is a welcome addition to our staff."

Former Santa Fe High School standout Cory Vejraska joins the men's basketball staff for the upcoming season, replacing departed assistant Brendan Foley. Vejraska starred for four seasons at SFHS in basketball, baseball and football. He was basketball team captain for two years and also the captain of the baseball and football teams his senior seasons.

As a junior and senior, he helped lead the Raiders to back to back basketball conference championships. He continued his playing career at Bridgton Academy and then Southern New Hampshire University where he graduated in 2011 with a bachelor's degree. Vejraska joins the staff after one season as an assistant at Bridgton Academy in Maine.

Lance Larimer, a former baseball standout for Gainesville High School, is the newest addition to the baseball coaching staff. Larimer played four seasons for the Purple Hurricanes of GHS and attended Santa Fe College for two years before joining the St. Thomas University baseball team in 2007. As a senior in 2010, Larimer garnered All-Conference First Team honors, was named the STU Player of the Year and was named a NAIA Scholar Athlete.
