MCLEOD SIGNS WITH ECKERD COLLEGE
Gainesville, FL – Santa Fe sophomore Roger McLeod Jr. has signed a scholarship with Eckerd College, Santa Fe Coach Chris Mowry recently announced. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
McLeod played one year for the Saints, averaging 7.5 points and 5.4 rebounds in 31 games played.
"We are very happy for Junior," said Mowry. "Eckerd is an outstanding school with a strong academic and basketball tradition. He was a big part of our success this past season, and should be able to contribute immediately at Eckerd. We look forward to following him over the next two years."
Eckerd College competes in the Sunshine State Conference at the NCAA Division II level. The Tritons, led by Head Coach Tom Ryan, finished the 2011-12 season 21-9 overall and 11-5 in conference play. They advanced to the second round of the NCAA II Tournament before being knocked out at the buzzer by Christian Brothers College.
