Gainesville, FL – Sophomore outfielder Brittney Mayhill has signed a letter of intent with Thomas University, Santa Fe coach Chris Ahern recently announced. Mayhill will begin at Thomas in the fall and have two years of eligibility remaining.

"Brittney was our anchor in left field for two years and I am sure she will become an anchor for Thomas as well," said Ahern. "She can also provide them with flexibility and contribute at catcher and at second base."

A two year starter for the Saints, Mayhill played in 92 games and hit .274 with six doubles, 19 RBI and 20 runs scored. She hit the first homerun of her career at the 2012 State Tournament, helping propel SF to the Atlantic District championship game. She was 6-for-18 with a homerun, four RBI and three runs scored, good enough to earn FCSAA All-Tournament honors.

Mayhill joins a Thomas University lead led by Head Coach Bill Wilson. The Night Hawks compete at the NAIA level and finished the 2012 season with a 21-31 overall record.

"Brittney never stops working on her skills and doesn't accept 'good enough' as good enough," said Ahern. "Her energy and enthusiasm at practice and in games does not waiver and we know she will do well at TU. We wish her all good things in her next step. She will be missed."
