Former Saints Moyer and Mathews Square off in Gainesville Super Regional

Gainesville, FL – First Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference outfielder Ryan Mathews and the #16 ranked North Carolina State Wolfpack face off against Jeff Moyer and the #1 Florida Gators on June 9-11 at McKethan Stadium in Gainesville for the 2012 NCAA Super Regional. The winner of the best of three series will advance on to the College World Series in Omaha, NE.

Mathews, a member of the 2009 Santa Fe State Championship and JUCO World Series team had one of the best statistical seasons of any player in the country in 2012. Through regional play, he has a .336 average, 17 homeruns and 15 doubles. As a sophomore at SF in 2009, Mathews led the Saints with 15 homeruns, including five at the JUCO World Series and also collected 15 doubles while hitting .356.

Moyer played for Santa Fe in 2010 and hit a team high .397 with 12 homeruns and 45 RBI. In two years at UF as a reserve infielder, Moyer has 18 hits including five doubles, two homeruns and 14 RBI.
