Fastpitch Loses Heartbreaker To Seminole State 5-4 (FCSAA Tournament)
April 29, 2012
SF FASTPITCH – 4/28/2012
Pensacola, FL – The Santa Fe Saints led 4-2 heading in to the top of the seventh inning, but failed to hold the lead, falling 5-4 to the Raiders, moving SF in to the loser's bracket. They will face the winner of the FSC-J and Indian River game taking place at 4:45 PM CST. The Saints will play that game immediately following the Stars and Pioneers game. Seminole has now moved on to the Atlantic District finals on Sunday at 10:00 AM CST.
The Raiders took an early 1-0 lead on the Saints but Santa Fe answered with three in the third on a RBI double by Erika Garcia and a bases loaded walk for Alaysia Miller.
SSC scored one in the fourth to cut the lead to 3-2. Miller again answered for SF, knocking in a run with a RBI groundout in the fifth.
The Saints brought their 4-2 lead into the seventh, but a one out four hit rally gave the Raiders the lead.
Santa Fe went in order in the bottom of the seventh to end the game.
SF awaits the winner of the FSC-J and Indian River slated to start at 4:45 PM. Should the Saints win later tonight, they will move on to play Seminole on Sunday morning, needing to beat them twice to advance to the NJCAA National Tournament.
