SF MEN'S BASKETBALL – 4.23.2012
Gainesville, FL – Coach Chris Mowry recently announced that sophomore guard Kevin Harden has signed a letter of intent with Indiana-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) for the 2012-13 season. Harden will have two years of eligibility remaining with the Mastodons.
"I am very happy for Kevin," said SF coach Chris Mowry. "IPFW is getting a tremendous competitor who will do anything he can to help his team win. Kevin was a big part of our success this season, and I look forward to following him over the next two years with the Mastadons."
Harden, a 2012 NJCAA All-American and Mid-Florida Conference Player of the Year, averaged a team best 14 points and six rebounds per game for the co-MFC champion Saints. He also helped lead SF to their first FCSAA Tournament win in over ten years.
"Kevin is a strong, athletic kid that really loves to play the game," Mowry said. "He's a good on-the-ball defender. He had a lot of big games for us."
IPFW, led by first year Head Coach Tony Jasick, posted an 11-20 overall record and a 5-12 mark in Summit League play during the 2011-12 season.
