WISEMAN SIGNS WITH NAIA II NATIONAL CHAMPIONS OREGON TECH
Gainesville, FL – Santa Fe sophomore guard Josh Wiseman has inked a letter of intent to play for the NAIA Division II National Champions Oregon Tech University during the 2012-13 season.
Wiseman played 16 games for the Saints and averaged 10.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.1 three pointers per game. His 52% three point percentage was tops in the state of Florida. His season was cut short in by a season ending injury at the beginning of January.
Oregon Tech is led by legendary head coach Danny Miles. Miles has amassed a 971-392 record, three National Titles and 14 conference titles in 41 years at the helm.
The Owls concluded the 2011-12 season with a 34-4 record and their third National Championship, defeating Northwood (Fla.) 63-46. Oregon Tech also won National Championships in 2004 and 2008.
"I am very happy for Josh," said SF coach Chris Mowry. "He wanted to get back to Oregon and be closer to his mom. Oregon Tech has been an NAIA power, and I know Josh will have two great years there. He is an outstanding player, one of the best shooters in the country. He was a big part of our success the last two years."
