SAINTS DROP TWO AT HOME TO SEMINOLE STATE; WIN SUSPENDED GAME FROM MARCH 8

Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints (25-21, 12-6 MFC) finished off a win over Seminole State College dating back to March 8 when the two teams were forced to halt play due to darkness with SF up 7-5 in the seventh inning. The Saints held on for a 7-5 victory.

Seminole bounced back in the double header, winning both games 3-2 and 5-4. Santa Fe led going in to the fifth inning of both games but couldn't hold on in either contest.

Karla Claudio put SF ahead 2-1 in game one with a fourth inning two run homer, but the Raiders bounced back with two in the fifth and kept the Saints off the board the rest of the way for the win.

In game two the Saints scored four first inning runs to go ahead 4-1. SSC chipped away and in the fifth a three run homerun by Kalee Tabor was the difference in the game.

Erika Garcia doubled in the bottom of the seventh, but pinch runner Nicole Day was doubled up after straying too far from the bag on a deep fly ball by Kimberly Booker that was caught by Seminole at the fence.

Santa Fe hosts Coastal Georgia on Monday, April 9 at 2:30 PM in non-conference double header action.
