Viva Europe!
March 29, 2012
The UF Center for European Studies, the International Center and Santa Fe College are collaborating to bring Viva Europe to the Gainesville community and nearby cities. Viva Europe is a day-long celebration of the cultures of Europe. This free festival will be held 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday April 7, at the Bo Diddley Downtown Plaza in Gainesville. The goal of this event is for the public to increase their appreciation and understanding of the diversity represented in our community through presentations and exhibits by student and community groups along with professional performers.
A five-night film festival will fill the week leading up to Saturday's festival. Award-winning films from the Eurochannel Short Films Tour will have their North Florida premier at three of the branch libraries and at Sante Fe College, each night at 6 p.m.
ll community members are encouraged to bring their chairs and their appetite for European cultures and have a blast. Admission is free. More information and a complete schedule of events is located on the Viva Europe Web page.
