The Economics of Happiness

There will be a special screening of The Economics of Happiness, 7 p.m. Monday, March 12 at the Civic Media Center, 433 S. Main St. The Economics of Happiness is a one-hour documentary about the worldwide movement for economic localization.

The film features a chorus of voices from six continents calling for systemic economic change, including David Korten, Bill McKibben, Vandana Shiva, Rob Hopkins, Juliet Schor, Michael Shuman and Helena Norberg-Hodge. They tell us that climate change and peak oil give us little choice – we need to localize, to bring the economy home. The Economics of Happiness challenges us to believe that it is possible to build a better world.
