Explore Healthcare Career Opportunities for African-American Men

The public is invited, especially African-American men of all age groups, to a forum 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 2505 NE 8th Ave., Gainesville. The topic will be high wage, high demand healthcare opportunities for African-American men. It is free and open to the public; refreshments will be served.

The forum presents a panel of African-American healthcare professionals and current Santa Fe College healthcare students who will discuss the benefits of this profession. Students will share their insight and inspiration regarding the academic path to success, and obstacles they have overcome. Myths and negative stereotypes that may block interest in pursuing a healthcare career will be cleared.

The SF programs represented are: Cardiovascular Technology, Dental (Hygiene & Assisting), Nursing (RN, LPN, Assistive), Nuclear Medicine Technology, Radiography, Respiratory Care and Surgical Technology.
