CENTRAL FLORIDA TAKES CONTROL OF MFC RACE WITH 78-61 WIN OVER SANTA FE
Ocala, FL – The Santa Fe Saints (22-4, 7-2 MFC) dropped just their second conference game of the season on Saturday evening to College of Central Florida and suffered just their first loss since January 7. The win for CF moves them into a tie with Santa Fe at the top of the Mid-Florida Conference standings with three games to go, but the 2-1 series win gives them the tiebreaker.
The Saints trailed 38-28 at the half but fought back half way through the second half to cut the deficit to 47-46. From there it was all Patriots. A 16-0 run stretched the lead back out to double digits and CF didn't look back, hanging on for the 17 point win.
Kevin Harden led all Santa Fe scorers with 16 points and Junior McLeod had 14. The Saints return to the court on Wednesday, February 15 in Gainesville against Daytona State College. The game can be watched live on www.psblive.com.
