SAINTS DROP TWO AGAINST STATE COLLEGE OF FLORIDA
Bradenton, FL – The State College of Florida Manatees used home field to their advantage on Saturday afternoon, defeating the FCSAA #4 Santa Fe Saints 3-2 and 6-0.
Two costly errors were the downfall for SF in the 4-3 game one loss. SF (4-3) outhit the Manatees 10-5 but couldn't overcome two late fielding mistakes.
Left handed pitcher Erika Garcia was credited with the loss in the first half of the double header.
Kimberly Booker finished game one 2-for-3 with an RBI, Brittney Mayhill was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Bianca Torres was 2-for-3.
Santa Fe couldn't get the bats going in game two and fell 6-0. Garcia started started and took her second loss of the day. Cierra Miller pitched the final 4.1 innings, surrendering just one hit. Kimberly Booker had the lone Santa Fe hit.
The Saints play their first home doubleheader of the season on Tuesday, February 7 against Tallahassee CC at 2:00 PM.
