Black History Month Amateur Talent Night – Auditions today, Jan. 25; event is Feb. 1

Open auditions for the first Black History Month Amateur Talent Night are 4-7:30 p.m. today, Jan. 25, in E Auditorium. Amateur performers from Santa Fe and the community are welcome to try out for the show.

Amateur Talent Night will take place 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, in the Fine Arts Hall. The show features motivational speaker Dr. Calvin Mackie plus talented student and community performers.

Prizes are awarded to the winners, including an iPad for first place, an iPod for second place, and thunderous applause for all!

Country Rockers! Bradford Fest Talent Showdown – applications due Feb. 17; event is Feb. 25

Country rock singers, solo or duet, can apply now to compete in the Bradford Fest Talent Showdown, 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Bradford High School Auditorium.

Prizes awarded will include first place, $500; second place, $50; and third place, $25. The top three winners will move on to the final auditions for the Suwannee River Jam on March 31 and perform at Boots 'n Barbecue on May 19. They will also have a radio opportunity on WEAG.

The deadline for submitting the application materials and fee is Feb. 17. Performers must be prepared to perform three songs; final instructions will be given Feb. 19 via email. All profits from this event will go to Santa Fe scholarships for Bradford County students. Admission to the Feb. 25 Talent Showdown is $5; children 5 and under are free.
