Stellar Madrigals: An Evening of Stars and Songs, Nov. 21
November 21, 2011
It's not very often one gets the opportunity to experience stellar voices singing under the stars. On Monday, Nov. 21, The Santa Fe Madrigal Singers will treat audiences to just that during the "Stellar Madrigals" concert held in the unique setting of Santa Fe College's Kika Silva Pla Planetarium.
"Stellar Madrigals," directed by SF Music Professor Lynn Sandefur, is a rare combination of art and science as the SF Madrigal Singers perform songs from the Renaissance era while astral imagery is illuminated above. The Madrigal Singers will delight audience members with a full hour of songs and glee as the stars twinkle.
This year marks the fifth time the SF Madrigal Singers have paired a night of stargazing with their a cappella music. Due to its popularity in previous years, the Madrigal Singers will perform three, 1-hour shows in the 60-seat planetarium. Showtimes are 5:30, 7, and 8:30 p.m. (Seating is first come, first served, so please arrive early.)
The planetarium is located in Building X, room 129 on the Northwest campus at 3000 NW 83rd St. (enter campus on North Road). This event is free and open to the public.
