SAINTS WRAP UP FALL BALL WITH 19-1 RECORD

Gainesville, FL – Coach Johnny Wiggs and the Saints concluded a successful Fall Ball season on November 6 with a 19-1 record and were just a 4-3 loss against Hillsborough CC away from an unblemished record for the second straight fall.

After starting 16-0, SF split a double header with the Hawks of Hillsborough CC on Friday, November 4. HCC took game one 4-3 and the Saints rallied to win game two 10-2.

The Santa Fe pitching staff held the Hawks to just four hits and two unearned runs in the second game. Lawrence Pardo, Trey Griffin, and Graham Cason led the offense with two hits apiece as the Saints cruised to a win.

On Sunday, November 6, the Saints took both games 11-1 against Top Prospects. SF hitters piled up 27 hits on the day and the pitchers only gave up only six hits, one earned run, and struck out 18 to put an exclamation point on the fall.

"I was pleased with the way the fall went and the progress that we made," said Wiggs. "I believe our guys got a good sense of what we are trying to do, how we need to prepare, and how we need to compete on a daily basis. This is a good group and I look forward to the upcoming spring."

The Saints start the spring regular season on January 27 and 28 in Douglas, GA against South Georgia College. South Georgia was one of ten teams to qualify and compete in the JUCO World Series last season.

The first home game for Santa Fe is Wednesday, February 1 against Polk State College.
