A Children's Holiday at Santa Fe Kicks Off December's Festivities
October 20, 2011
What could be more fun for children than an afternoon filled with laughter, singing and dancing?
At A Chidlren's Holiday at Santa Fe College, 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will visit, and a bevy of elves will clown and interact with the audience. Costumed storytellers will give their updated, humorous version of "'Twas the Night Before Christmas." Favorite "Nutcracker" characters will dance, and there's clapping and audience participation in multicultural holiday songs.
The climax of this showcase of SF talent is "Carol to the King," a glorious processional including dancers, choir and band. Then kids can make holiday crafts and meet their favorite "Nutcracker" characters.
It all happens in the brand new SF Fine Arts Hall on the Northwest Campus, 3000 NW 83rd St., Gainesville. Orchestra seats are $15, balcony seats are $12, and children under 12 are free with a limit of two children per adult. For tickets phone 352-395-4181.
