Trashformations Recycled Art Competition
October 17, 2011
The 13th Annual Student Recycled Art Competition Trashformations is coming up soon. In the past, Santa Fe students have swept the college category and hopefully this year our students will do equally well.
The competition is open to college, middle school, and high school students within Alachua County. The award ceremony is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18 at the Florida Museum of Natural History, and is a fun, buzzy event. The application deadline is Nov. 3; artwork must be dropped off to the museum between noon and 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17
PRIZES: Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three entries in each category based on creative expression and the innovative use of reused/recycled materials.
ENTRIES: All entries must be comprised of 70 percent or more recycled/recyclable/reused material and will be judged by art professors, museum curators, art appraisers and/or gallery owners.
For information please visit Trashformations on Alachua County's website.
Good luck, Santa Fe artists!
